The Gruen Transfer - Ad Crunch - Old Spice
I find this ad really funny and it tends to be really memorable, I guess it is something like the "big ad" by carlton draught. Well, here is what gruen transfer has to say. I love watching how gruen transfer talks about all kinds of advertisment.
“Hello, ladies, look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped using ladies scented body wash and switched to Old Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re on a boat with the man your man could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an oyster with two tickets to that thing you love. Look again, the tickets are now diamonds. Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady. I’m on a horse.” [Smell like a man, man. Old Spice]
Iphone 4s weekend sales up to 4 million.
Could this be a tribute to the death of Steve Jobs?
Apple's iPhone 4S barrelled toward unit sales of up to 4 million at the weekend, as the company's US carrier partner AT&T reported a record number of customers activating the device on its network.
The latest version of Apple's best-seller, which went on sale last Friday in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the UK, is outpacing the iPhone 4 - a device that topped 1.7 million units in its first weekend in 2010. Most estimates for weekend sales range from 2 million to 3 million, with Yankee Group analyst Carl Howe predicting up to 4 million.
'iPhone for Steve'
In Australia, the first country where the product went on sale, Jackie Guo, 25, and his girlfriend, both students at Macquarie University, said they lined up as a tribute to Jobs.
“It's the iPhone for Steve, it's for the memory of Steve,” Guo said. “It was the last product he worked on. He pushed this company to become a viable company. His ideas are better than others.”
In San Francisco on Friday, a line stretched around the block at the Union Square store. Customers were given bagels, nutrition bars and energy drinks as they waited. Eva Nunez, 46, was in line to buy the new iPhone for herself and her 14-year- old son. “It's a mum's duty,” she said.
In Frankfurt, Grigory Stolyarov, a 27-year-old employee of DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale, spent the night in front of the store on the city's main shopping street. He had put on two pairs of socks, sweaters and jackets to weather the first near-freezing night of fall and be among the first 20 people in a line of more than 1,000.

RIP Steve Jobs
I woke up this morning and the first thing i know was Steve Job (Founder of Apple) just passed away from pancreas cancer. It is so depressing knowing the guy who created this awesome technology that everyone is using now died at the age of 56. I will always be a loyal customer of Apple. His brand will continue to live on!

New Coke campaign
Coke is changing their packaging by putting names as the labels.
This new coke campaign advertisement is appearing everywhere. I was on ebuddy messenger awhile ago and saw the ad on the corner of the page. I think this is a great way to expose the campaign to customers. I have seen this ad on facebook, websites etc. Im sure it would be a great success with the amount of advertisement exposure.
Coca-Cola plays name game with 'Share A Coke'
Coca-Cola is putting Aussies front and centre by printing people's names on millions of bottles (for the first time ever) as a social invitation to find the names of friends and family and encourage them to connect and 'Share a Coke' together.
The launch of the new multi-million dollar summer campaign, 'Share a Coke', will see the country's 150 most popular names appear on labels this summer, encouraging them to 'Share a Coke' with one another.
This is the first time Coca-Cola has made such a major change to its packaging and the first time any brand in Australia has launched this type of campaign. 'Share a Coke' with Matt, Josh, Luke, Rebecca, Nicole, Kate messaging was designed to encourage Aussies to connect with each other this summer. All the executions of the fully integrated 'Share a Coke' marketing campaign act as an invitation for consumers to share a bottle or can of Coke with someone they know, or want to know.
Says Lucie Austin, marketing director, Coca-Cola South Pacific: "We are using the power of the first name in a playful and social way to remind people of those in their lives they may have lost touch with or have yet to connect with. We've put names on Coca-Cola bottles so consumers will have fun finding their friends and family members' names and then enjoy sharing a Coke together."
